18 Aug A Letter To Lindani
We have visited Lindani many times and stayed at several of the properties. Bush Camp is probably our favourite. We very much enjoyed our weekend at Bush Camp. We were delighted to see Naomi again – she is always so very welcoming and informative.
Lindani properties are always beautifully prepared ready for guests, down to the gorgeous fresh flowers, even in the depths of winter! The properties are always spotlessly clean, extremely well equipped and attractively presented. There is plenty of information available for guests, and helpful touches like insect spray to ward off the ticks; portable drink bottles; firelighters; walking sticks etc.
There is an effective system for reporting defects – very important and speaks volumes about Lindani’s concern for guests’ comfort. And guest comments in the guest book are obviously acted on – we were delighted when bird baths appeared after one scorching summer when birds were thirsty and struggling to drink from the swimming pool, as was noted in some guest comments.
Lindani is environmentally conscious – good to see recycling of waste. We are impressed that there is continuous improvement, as notified in the very helpful Lindani newsletter – upgrading of facilities, newly-developed areas such as the Peace Place, picnic areas etc
Lindani offers guests the opportunity to enjoy home-cooked food, delivered to order. Well done to Lindani Kitchen – we have enjoyed the delicious meals many times. This provision and the picnic baskets offered are all features that make Lindani special. The option of hiring bikes is similarly also a valuable feature for visitors, especially those travelling from further away who are not able to bring their own equipment.
Above all, what makes Lindani special for us is the peace and quiet. Guests are discouraged from encroaching on the privacy of other guests, and access roads are clearly marked as being for guests only. The staff do not intrude – no daily cleaning; we know that we will be undisturbed, other than the welcome visit of Naomi or Solly to greet us and receive the indemnity form. Another major plus for us is the option of an extended stay on the Sunday – it makes such a difference to a short weekend to be able to have a full morning and a relaxing lunch, before having to pack up and vacate the property on the Sunday.
We have very much appreciated our stays at Lindani. Unfortunately it looks like this visit might have been our last – we are leaving South Africa to return home to New Zealand in a few months time. We will always have very fond memories of our time at Lindani.
Many thanks and very best wishes to all the Lindani staff.
