January was fairly much “Business as usual” for the Lindani Team, as we settled into our various
daily routines. The good rains have continued and the bushveld is lush and green. This, of course,
means that track maintenance is high, as we continue to work on giving our guests the best possible
outdoor experience, and as we prepare for our first two-day Top of the Waterberg Trail Run of the
year, 09 and 10 April 2022.

Lindani was delighted to have played a small part in the Ride for Rhino Safari this January.
Organised by Belinda Chaffer, a group of 11 horse riders rode 230kms in the beautiful Waterberg
environ, staying a night in Motseng and enjoying a picnic lunch at Skebenga dam. It was an event
with a difference for Lindani, with a number of horses being corralled outside Motseng, instead of a
bunch of mountain bikes!
Ride for Rhino is a UK based initiative aimed at helping to raise funds for the prevention of rhino
poaching, specifically in the Waterberg. Set up by a group of committed people who fell in love with
the area after having visited several times, Ride for Rhino UK aims at following a 3-pronged course of
action: Help raise funds for Security and Protection; help educate local communities on the value of
wildlife conservation and build links between the UK and South Africa to encourage tourism and
economic growth in the area. Ride for Rhino is an annual event. It is our great hope that they will
visit Lindani again next year!

Valentine’s day brings a touch of romance to February and from the response to our February
Valentines Special, I would say “Love is in the air!” With few exceptions, our lodges are fully booked
over the Valentine’s weekend. The rest of February is filling up fast too, with families and friends
taking advantage of the 10% discount offered for this month! There are still some mid -week
opportunities for those who are able to get away and who might think a last minute escape to the
bushveld would be in order!
To our guests travelling to Lindani in the next while, do take care on the roads. And Happy
Valentine’s day to all, wherever you may be!

Kind regards,

Cathy and the Lindani Team
