I’m afraid of getting lost when hiking/cycling. How can I be assured of finding my way?

All our trails, both hiking and Mountain biking, are very well marked.  They can also be downloaded from the TRAILFORKS APP.  Farm roads are included on the App as well.  If they prefer, hikers may refer to the maps in the information guide provided in each lodge.  Guided tours are offered for hikers at an additional cost.  Book your tour in advance at the office.

Does Lindani hire out bikes?

Yes, we do. Please contact the office to book your bike.

I’m interested in learning more about the animals and plants in the bush. Are there any guided tours?

Yes, we have several qualified guides with excellent knowledge of the exceptional variety of fauna and flora in the Waterberg area.  Book in advance at the office. Additional costs apply.

For the convenience of birding enthusiasts, each lodge has a list of birds and a bird guide book.  Lindani boasts a variety of over 230 species of birds and guests are welcome to bird anywhere on the farm (other than the designated private areas around lodges).

How safe is it to walk/cycle amongst the game?

Apart from the buffalo, which are kept in a controlled area, Lindani does not have The Big 5, so you are quite safe on the trails.  As no hunting is permitted, animals are generally calm and used to people, allowing for some really close viewings.

Does Lindani offer game drives?

Yes, game drives can be booked for the early morning or late afternoon.  Book at least a day ahead of time.  Additional costs apply. For more info, contact the Lindani office.

Can I drive on my own at night?

Unfortunatley, Lindani does not allow guests to drive at night.

Do I need a 4x4 to do my own game drive?

You do not need a 4×4 for most of the roads and those roads you do need a 4×4 are very clearly marked.   If possible, though, a car with higher clearance is advisable, particularly if there has been a wet season.

Can I drive a motorbike or quadbike on the farm?

Unfortunately, motorbikes and quadbikes are NOT allowed for game viewing or recreational purposes. However, it is permissible to access your lodge per motorbike.

Is any fishing allowed?

Yes, fishing is permitted in the dams (Alden Cottage guests have exclusive use of Alden dam) and there is bass fishing along the Melkrivier during the rainy season. All fishing is on a catch and release basis. Guests need to bring their own gear.

Can I get firewood at Lindani?

Yes, the first 30kg of wood is free.
Additional firewood (Bluegum) – R50 per 50kg bag
Additional braai wood (Vaalbos) – R25 per 10kg bag

Can I have the lodge serviced if I should choose?

Yes, you may.  Additional charges and Ts&Cs apply. Please book through the Lindani office. Should your stay exceed 4 days, there will be a complementary service where fresh linen and towels are provided.

Does Lindani offer child-minding services?

Yes it does.  Additional charges apply.  Please enquire at the Lindani office.

Can I bring my dog along?

Lindani follows a pet-friendly policy, but terms and conditions apply.  If you intend bringing your pooch, please let the office know BEFORE you arrive, so we can send you these terms and conditions, which you will need to accept in writing.
